Society for Data Science is BIT Mesra's first student-run, not-for-profit organization focused on Data Science and its interdisciplinary applications.

ABOUT ORGANIZER:

•Develops open source projects since 2009 with 5000+ registered developers on GitHub.

•Trains 3000+ developers through coding programs annually.

•Organizes dozens of meetings at developer events, hackathons, and workshops throughout Asia every year.

•Shares information with 40,000+ developers on mailing lists and social media.

Since its first event in 2009, the FOSSASIA Summit has become a leading Open Technology event. It brings together thousands of participants in the open-source ecosystem: students, developers, companies, and FOSS communities to showcase the latest technologies, exchange knowledge and collaborate on projects. In-person events attracted up to 4,000 attendees with over 200 speakers from 47 countries around the world in the past.

This online summit will run on the open-source event platform 'eventyay.' Besides the virtual experience, there will be a broadcast and workshop hub in Singapore at the Lifelong Learning Institute to welcome in-country speakers, trainers, and participants. Communities and partners of FOSSASIA are also setting up live hubs at hacker and makerspaces, offices, and universities to connect to participants locally where possible in countries like Vietnam, China and India.

The FOSSASIA Open Tech Summit is taking place ONLINE this year between 13th - 21st March 2021.
So far, 130 sessions, including presentations on various domains such as Covid19 & Healthcare to AI, Web Services, etc., and workshops by hundreds of international experts and tech leaders from Red Hat, Microsoft, Oracle, and many more, is confirmed to take place. It will be an excellent opportunity for students to learn and connect with the tech communities and companies worldwide.
